Two Must-See Museums in Makati City

Ayala Museum
Located in Ayala Center, Makati, nearby Greenbelt is the privately owned Ayala Museum. Learn more about the culture and history of the Philippines through the artworks and the exhibition of historical objects that range from archeological artifacts, life-size dioramas, and paintings of Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, and Fernando Zobel to gold items, and Chinese and Southeast Asian ceramics. These items are located on the ground floor to the fourth floor.

On the sixth floor of Ayala Museum is Filipinas Heritage Library, a library devoted to Filipino-made books and materials focusing on the history and culture of the Philippines.

The museum and the library are open from Tuesdays to Sundays at 9 AM to 6 PM.

Yuchengco Museum
The four-storey Yuchengco Museum opened its doors in September 2005. It features classical and contemporary paintings from local and foreign artists, letters from Jose Rizal, and memorabilia from businessman and diplomat Alfonso T. Yuchengco. Despite it being compact and aside from its permanent exhibits, artists from different art genres use the gallery to showcase their works from time to time. Art and cultural and historical lectures are also often conducted in the museum.

Yuchengco Museum is located at RCBC Plaza, Makati, and is open from Mondays to Saturdays at 10 AM to 6 PM.
