Three Guys and a Grill: Serving Premium Sausages in Poblacion, Makati

The brainchild of three men, Duncan Gates, a Kiwi; Tom Thurnherr, a Swiss; and Pepper Teehankee, a Filipino who share the same passion for quality sausages, Three Guys and a Grill is a fast-casual sausage and hot dog hole-in-the-wall that serves locals and tourists high-quality sausages in the Philippines. Its first and main branch is on B. Valdez Street in Brgy. Poblacion, Makati opened in June 2017. Today, it also has branches in EDSA Shangri-La, Mandaluyong; Grub Garden in Malate, Manila; and The Pantree in Legazpi Village, Makati.

The grill house uses locally sourced ingredients, from the custom-made sausages from Santi’s to the par-baked bread – guests can opt for whole wheat or white bun – from Food Garage that go through the final baking process onsite, and the in-house all-organic sauces and toppings.

“Hotdogs are traditionally kept in a warm can of water and the buns in a humidifier. Those can be tasty and commercially opportunistic, but are low-quality. At Three Guys and a Grill, we have an actual grill. We have a flat pan where we cook our sausages before we transfer them to the flaming griddle – with an actual fire – to char and give them more flavor.” Duncan shares. “We also use locally sourced products that are low in or without preservatives, low in sodium, and are healthier than traditional hotdogs.”
