To achieve a calm and inviting environment, the designer used a light and neutral color scheme for the living and dining areas. Though the design is contemporary, modern and durable pieces of furniture made by Filipino artisans were introduced into the design to give the space a unique identity.

A multi-use den for the family and guests
The designer transformed the family den into a relaxing but functional space for the family. A reading nook with display and storage shelves was incorporated into the window. Contemporary lounge chairs, a live edge wood side table, woven meditation cushions, and a soft pile carpet were used to bring comfort and relaxation into the space. Floating shelves were used to display family memorabilia. The indoor plant not only adds visual interest but it improves air quality in the space.

Minimum additions to maintain an interior’s simplicity
The original ceramic tile flooring and off-white paint of the den were retained to minimize renovation expenses. Creating an accent wall upgrades the look without having to spend much on revising the interior structure. The designer’s vision is to incorporate outdoor elements into the indoor space. To achieve this, the designer chose a neutral and tropical wallpaper to serve as an accent wall and background to the contemporary furniture pieces.
