10 Ways on How to Become a Real Estate Jedi

Star Wars has influenced our world in countless ways and it indeed promotes a positive one. Through all the events and plots that have unfolded, there lies several takeaways and lessons which can be applied in our daily lives. Others can even be applied to a variety of professional fields, including real estate.

Here are 10 ways to help you on your journey to becoming a real estate jedi:

1. Always give it your all.

“Do or do not. There is no try.” This famous quote of Yoda tells you that you have to be 100% committed and never settle for less. At the end of the day you won’t have any regrets.

2. Be professional at all times.

Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi still showed proper decorum even when they knew they were negotiating with shady members of the Trade Fedaration. They didn’t draw their lightsabers at them. Well, at least not immediately.

3. Don’t judge your clients.

One character comes to mind with this teaching: Jar Jar Binks. He looked odd and was dim-witted but he came through when things got tough. Don’t be easily deceived by appearances or it might cost you.

4. Seek more knowledge.

As Luke was pondering how he could levitate his crashed X-Wing Fighter, Yoda uttered “You must unlearn what you have learned.” Remain open-minded to adjust to the changing working environment and not just cover the basics.

5. Always look your best.

Anakin Skywalker made sure Padmé would notice his nice threads whenever they met. Well, you should do the same. Remember, you only have a seven second window to make a good first impression so make it count.

6. Don’t be afraid.

Anakin Skywalker was advised by Yoda that “Fear is the path to the dark side.” Don’t be afraid to take risks. Have the courage to step up to a challenge or else you’ll be stuck and end up miserable.

7. Maintain work-life balance.

With their victory secured, Luke Skywalker celebrated with the Ewoks and the rest of the gang in Star Wars Return of the Jedi. Don’t be all work and no play. Appreciate the fruits of your labor by having some time for yourself or with loved ones.

8. Believe in yourself.

Anakin Sywalker believed he would be a great star fighter pilot. He also believed he would become the most powerful Jedi. Both beliefs became reality because of his enduring passion. Though he used his skills and powers for the Dark side, still, his dedication was unquestionable.

9. Show control.

“Control, control. You must learn control.” This “Star Wars” quote from Yoda telling Luke how to master the Force is self-explanatory. It involves personal discipline. Know what you’re supposed to do and be, and follow it through.

10. Remain optimistic.

Throughout the Star Wars saga, there have been times that the cards were stacked against the Jedis and the Freedom fighters but they never faltered. Good conquered evil in the end. It just proves that a little hope goes a long way.

The Star Wars saga is packed with life lessons that can help enrich our lives. But the most important lesson Star Wars imparts to its viewers is to will themselves into positive and productive individuals even in the face of difficulty. It won’t happen overnight but once you get there, the Force will be strong with you.
